What specs will the Surface Laptop 2 have?

Microsoft is keen to never just launch additional products for the sake of it, so you’re not going to see the old version of the Surface Laptop with the latest processor jammed in. You’re getting something that is built coherently from the ground up which is not something we can say for all laptop manufacturers. Much like the previous version of the Surface Laptop, the Surface Laptop 2 is built to be sleek, light and portable while retaining a tremendous amount of power. The Surface Laptop 2 will feature a 13.5″ PixelSense Display, 8th generation Intel processor and a Alcantara covered keyboard. Exactly which set of specs you’ll be seeing in your laptop will, as ever, depend on how much you’re willing to spend. The more affordable versions of the Surface Laptop 2 will see an 8th generation i5, 8GB of RAM and between 128GB and 256GB of SSD storage space. If you’re planning on splashing out on one of the more substantial versions, you can expect an 8th generation i7, 16GB of RAM and up to 512 or 1TB of SSD storage space (although the 1TB is not available in the UK). The laptop itself will have 1x full-size USB 3.0 connection, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Mini DisplayPort and 1x Surface Connect port. The screen will feature a 2256 x 1504 resolution at 201 PPI for a 3:2 aspect ratio, be able to handle 10 point multi-touch and be protected by Gorilla Glass 3 to ensure it’s as sturdy as possible.
