Make sure you have charged your Galaxy Ace S5830i at least up to 60% to minimize the risk of interruption during the flashing process. Backup all your phone data and settings including contacts, messages, call logs, memos, etc. to an external SD card or on your PC. This is recommended as everything gets wiped in the last step of this procedure. Backup EFS folder present in your phone’s system directory. This folder contains all your phone’s specific information such as the IMEI, wireless device’s MAC addresses, product code, and much more.
Make sure you have installed mobile-specific drivers on your PC.
Your Samsung Galaxy Ace must be rooted. Also, a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP must be installed.

Procedure to install Android 5.0 Lollipop on Galaxy Ace S5830i:
Step 1: Download both the zip package files in a specific folder on your computer. Do not extract them. Step 2: Now connect your Galaxy Ace S5830i to the computer using the original USB data cable and copy these zip package files on your phone’s external SD card. Note: You may directly download the files on your phone. Step 3: Now safely disconnect your Galaxy Ace from the computer and power it off. Then boot your phone into CWM recovery mode. For doing so, simultaneously press and hold the Home button (middle button) + Power button till you enter recovery mode. Note: Touch won’t work in recovery mode. So use the Volume keys for navigating up and down and use the Home button for selection. Step 4: As you land into recovery, take Nandroid backup of your currently using ROM. Nandroid backup is the backup of your phone’s entire operating system & is always helpful during the failure while flashing process or during any problem with the ROM. In that case, you can easily restore your previous saved ROM. Step 5: Now wipe the data and cache partitions from your phone’s internal memory. For doing the same, navigate to the ‘wipe data/factory reset’ option using volume keys. Select it using the Home button. On the next screen press the Yes option to start the wiping process. Similarly, navigate to the ‘wipe cache partition’ option and select it to wipe the caches. Note that this step will clear entire data from your phone’s internal memory including contacts, messages, apps, memos, call logs etc. Thus a complete backup of everything must be done before implementing this step. Step 6: Return to the main menu and select the Advanced option located on the recovery mode itself. On the next screen select the Reboot Recovery option. Wait until you boot again into recovery. Let’s move to the actual Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM flashing process. Step 7: Using Volume keys navigate to the ‘install zip from SD card’ option. Select it using the Home button. Then on the next screen select the ‘choose zip from SD card’ option. This will show you all the data present on your phone’s external SD card. Use Volume keys and navigate to the Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM which you’ve copied earlier. Select it using the Home button. On the next screen select the ‘Yes’ option to start the actual Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM flashing process. Be patient and wait for some time to complete the process successfully. Step 8: After the flashing process completes successfully, again wipe data/cache partitions from the recovery. For doing so select the ‘wipe data/factory reset’ option and ‘wipe cache partition’ option. This step is a must to solve the boot loop issue. Step 9: Now flash the Google Apps (GApps) zip package file similarly as you have flashed the ROM. Note: Do not wipe data/cache after flashing Google Apps. Step 10: Finally! Just restart your Galaxy Ace S5830i by selecting the ‘reboot system now’ option from the recovery mode. The first boot takes more time to start than usual. But don’t worry after a couple of boots it’ll be normal. Note: If you want to restore your previous ROM, then boot into recovery mode, select the ‘Backup and Restore’ option and on the next screen select the ‘Restore’ option. Then select one of the saved ROM you want to restore. Finally! This is how you can install the Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM on your Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i smartphone.
