Unveiled at its Smart Life conference in Beijing, the Hunter V700 adds to the firm’s ‘all-scenario line-up’ and offers a “unique design and innovations in cooling technology.” It goes up for pre-order today in mainland China starting at ¥7,499 (around £850 converted). The news comes after Huawei – owner of the Honor sub-brand – told us it planned to launch a dedicated gaming brand. Gaming laptops have historically, especially at the cheaper end of the market, been plasticky and chunky. However, Honor has built the Hunter V700 using a premium aluminium alloy and it comes in at 19.9mm thick. The sleek design features lighting and a Full HD 16.1in screen with 4.7mm bezels and a 144Hz refresh rate. There are also a range of ports including HDMI, ethernet and USB-C. Moving onto components, Honor has fitted the Hunter V700 with 10th-gen Intel processors starting with a Core i5 and optional Core i7 models. Graphics start with an Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti, while the Core i7 models get the RTX 2060 card. Then there’s 16GB of RAM (user upgradeable to 32GB) across the board and either 512GB or 1TB of NVMe SSD storage. Keeping all of these components cool is a ‘Wind Valley design’ so when opened up the wind valley channel at the base is automatically revealed to form an air intake vent of 8.5 mm, increasing the air intake by 40%.
Honor has also developed a new heat sink “to greatly increase the heat dissipation area” and there are two 12V fans. A dedicated Hunter button allows users to quickly switch between performance, balanced, and quiet modes. Streamers can also shake their Honor phone and tap it on the trackpad to save the last 30 seconds of gameplay as well as the 30 seconds after. This is Magic Link tech taken from the MagicBook Pro. Honor also says that live broadcast is made easy as “The video and sound of mobile games can be synchronized to the notebook wirelessly, delivering a live broadcast experience that’s as stable and smooth as when using a wired connection.” Here are the three models of the Honor Hunter V700 with prices.
