How can I watch the Far Cry 5 reveal?
Following the announcement of the reveal earlier this week, Far Cry fans have been waiting patiently for the reveal trailer – and it’s finally here. What should I expect from Far Cry 5?
While details are scarce at the moment, there are a number of image- and video-based teasers online that give us an idea of the location and the theme of the US-based game.
The above image (click to enlarge) suggests that Far Cry 5 will tell the story of a militant Christian cult. Why? Apart from the fact that the characters are arranged in a similar way to Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper, there are elements of the Eucharist in front of the central Jesus figure – a goblet of wine and a piece of bread. He also seems to be reading a religious book, which we assume is the Bible. Looking at the smaller details in the image, the American flag’s stars have been replaced with crosses that resemble the Iron Cross, a decoration used by Nazis under the direction of Adolf Hitler. Lastly, you can’t help but notice the badly beaten man in the bottom left-hand corner with ‘SINNER’ carved into his back. Whatever Ubisoft has planned for Far Cry 5, it looks to be one of the edgiest games in the series to date.
