We’re not expecting a new Surface Duo in the next few months, with Microsoft thought to be prioritising the software this year ahead of a potential Duo 3 in 2023. Considering the premium hardware, it’s easy to see why. Despite being Microsoft’s latest and greatest phone, the Surface Duo 2 has still been heavily discounted in recent months. Very low stock means Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are unlikely, but you can still save big if you’re based in the UK. However, the situation is more complicated in the US.

US
All the following US retailers have sold the device in recent months, but they’re currently out of stock if you want to buy new: Your best alternative is to buy one from eBay, but there’s always the risk of a dodgy deal.
UK
The situation is a little better in the UK, but there’s only one place with stock: Currys previously sold the Duo 2 , but it’s not available there anymore.

Can you buy the Surface Duo 2 on contract?
The Surface Duo 2’s premium price makes buying the phone on contract an appealing alternative, but no network is stocking the phone in the US or UK. EE did have the 128GB available for around a year after the device was first released, but it appears to have been removed from the site. We’ve reached out to EE to see if it will be returning, and will update this article if we hear more. No carriers have ever made the Duo 2 available in the US. But while you can’t buy the device on contract, unlocked versions will work with all of the usual networks.
How much did the Surface Duo 2 cost at launch?
Despite the upgrades, the Duo 2 was priced similarly to its predecessor at launch. The £1,349/$1,499 starting price was identical in the UK, but $100 more expensive in the US. Here’s the full breakdown:

The Surface Duo 2 was officially revealed at Microsoft’s Surface event on 22 September 2021. It then went on sale on 21 October, avoiding the long delays between announcement and European release that affected the original Duo.
